What Residents & Families Are Saying
When we needed to find a facility with the best care for our loved one, Dorothy, we were overjoyed to find Teresa’s House in Argyle. The care and attention that is given has made a huge difference in Dorothy‘s emotional and physical health. Teresa’s House has gone way beyond what we expected in providing a real loving home. When Dorothy had a dream of going to the World Series, Teresa’s House helped us make it happen. It was beyond belief.

My father became a resident of Teresa’s House in Argyle about six weeks ago, and I’ve been very pleased with the quality of care. I thought that the transition to assisted living and memory care would be difficult for my father, but the staff at Teresa’s house have helped make it go smoothly. I’ve been especially impressed by how the head nurse and staff get to know each resident and learn his or her particular needs and preferences. They really go out of their way to accommodate both the residents and their families.

After years as a Nurse Administrator, my ideal vision for my mom’s Alzheimer’s care was finally met by Teresa’s House. Unlike other dismal facilities, Teresa’s House offers open-concept living, a bright, cheerful atmosphere, and exceptional care.
Staff, guided by Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care, provide compassionate, patient support. I’ve witnessed countless acts of kindness, and the 24/7 licensed nurses offer immense peace of mind. Families receive support and connection through monthly meetings. Mom adores the Activity Center, with its unique features and engaging programs led by Irina.
Teresa’s House truly understands dementia. Remember, being present, advocating, and communicating with staff are vital for your loved one’s well-bein

Teresa’s House is wonderful. The staff is so kind and caring, the food is wonderful, and the facility is absolutely top notch. I recently moved my mother into Teresa’s house and my siblings are so happy with the care that mom is receiving. It really takes away all the worry that we had about her safety and comfort. Thank you to everyone at Teresa’s House!

It’s been wonderful to see my mom interact with others! Dining and activities with the other residents has improved my mom’s emotional health and outlook on life. The house, with 15 other residents, is beautiful, clean and has a very calm/relaxed atmosphere. My mom has enjoyed the food and variety of activities… from exercise to crafts!

At the age of 93, my mother-in-law was struggling to live by herself and led a rather isolated life. After she was hospitalized for a medical emergency, I began researching and visiting several assisting living and memory care residential homes in the Plano and Frisco areas for immediate placement. She needed a higher level of care than what we were providing, and I hoped to find a community that would brighten her living circumstances. Some facilities offered what appeared to be well established programs but hallways, elevators and gathering areas felt crowded. Others offered impressive hotel like amenities upon entry, but individual rooms and activity areas were extremely small. After investigating at least six different residential homes, I felt uneasy about having to make what I considered an agonizing decision. Fortunately, I decided to make one more visit and met with Godwin Dixon, co-owner of Theresa’s House in McKinney. As he led me on an extensive tour of both their assisted living and memory care village, he repeatedly explained why the home-like residences, programs, and employees at Theresa’s House were “the best of the best,” and I immediately saw the differences. We walked past six beautiful, ranch style homes situated on immaculately maintained lawns, gardens, outdoor porches and walking paths. Inside each home, I viewed clean, spacious open living areas with central kitchens for gathering and socializing. Tables were set with linen awaiting lunch-time diners. Individual rooms were brightly lit with large windows and modern bathrooms were easily accessible. This was no longer a difficult decision. I had found the right place for our loved one and family. The team at Theresa’s House worked quickly and efficiently to help us make a smooth transition, and they assisted us in arranging needed hospice care. While my mother-in-law met this new change with initial resistance, within days she was calling her caregivers and neighbors her new friends. She told me daily, “They take good care of me here.” As a family, we visited often, and every time we did we were greeted warmly. Any concerns or questions about her day were addressed immediately. The residents and their families participated in a variety of events, including an outdoor “Summer Bash” with live music, games, and a barbeque feast. Their family of employees felt like our family. We are grateful for the exceptional care provided by all of the nursing staff and caregivers in house too.
My mother-in-law was treated like a queen, being greeted each day with the kindest of words and gentle care. Our personal experience can validate that Theresa’s House is indeed “the best of the best!”
